Title: Looking Down
Medium: Pastel
Reflection: In my perspective, this part of the city is a dirty, ugly, and unsafe community. I emphasized this by splitting the landscape into a 20:80 ratio, this caused the horizon and the skies below and above to split directly in half showing a realistic aerial effect. Many symbols in this artwork, although simple and hidden create the whole meaning of the piece. It has the “no crossing” sign to show the danger that the city provides, the fast moving car symbolizes the fast paced city life, and the pebbles in the foreground to show the dirty, unnoticed and unimportant parts of the city.
